'The New Yorker' Taps J. Crew for 100th Anniversary Collab Capsule
A homage of to the publication’s century of circulation in the form of reimagined heritage J. Crew pieces.
The New Yorker is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year. The legacy publication has now officially been in circulation for 100 years, and in honor of its century (!!) as a cultural cornerstone, The New Yorker is reteaming with fellow NYC imprint J. Crew for the pair’s largest collaborative capsule yet.
After delivering a limited-edition capsule of vintage-wash tees – each stamped with a signature New Yorker comic – the duo is dipping its toes into a larger release, complete with a lineup of men’s, women’s, and children’s graphics and outerwear.
In the new capsule, J. Crew looked to bring the publication’s wit and sophistication to life across a delivery of dual-minded apparel and accessories. Dominated by an earthy, neutral color palette, rugby shirts are stamped with subtle logos and oversized oxford shirts land in both plain and striped iterations.
Wool crewneck sweaters arrive alongside cashmere knits, while graphic tees and hoodies come stamped with The New Yorker’s logo across the middle as well as other phrases like “Future Critic” and “Talk of the Town.” In true New York City fashion, accessories include a canvas tote bag and canvas baseball cap.
