Moncler has tapped longtime member of the Genius roster and streetwear legend Hiroshi Fujiwara for its latest collection, FRGMT. Fujiwara was inspired by straightforwardness and the reality of his surroundings. To create an authentic dialogue with his audience, each piece is designed exactly as he would like to wear in his own day-to-day life.
By melding classically American and British silhouettes with a twist of technical expertise, Fujiwara elevates otherwise inconspicuous design with thoughtful surprises. Nylon and knit varsity cardigans are embroidered with FRGMT patchwork logo designs and numeric codes, while the classic beige chore coat sports nylon quilted elbow pads and subtle logo stitching on the front pockets. T-shirts feature kitten and bunny illustrations from Korean illustration studio Nayeon & Rang, adding a touch of playful balance alongside graphic quotes by philosophers Nietzche and Aristotle.
Navy and Khaki tailored trenches are transformed using a protective GORE-TEX INFINIUM lightweight material. Meanwhile, Moncler’s signature Maya2 and Everest2 jackets also received a remix, featuring 50% lighter materials for on-the-go functionality and lighter packing abilities.
