Amazon Launches AI-Powered Alexa+
The next generation is expected to be more personal and capable than Alexa.

Amazon has officially launched its updated version of Alexa. The new generation of Alexa is powered by generative AI and will be known as Alexa+.
Expected to be your new persona AI assistant, Alexa+ is smarter, more conversational and capable. She also comes with free with Prime. According to Amazon’s press release, Alexa+ is will keep “you entertained, helps you learn, keeps you organized, summarizes complex topics, and can converse about virtually anything. Alexa+ can manage and protect your home, make reservations, and help you track, discover, and enjoy new artists. She can also help you search, find or buy virtually any item online, and make useful suggestions based on your interests. Alexa+ does all this and more — all you have to do is ask.”
The long-awaited generative AI version o Alexa aka Alexa+, is said to remove much of the difficulties that come with asking questions to a speaker to control your smart home or receive information. Alexa+ is expected to help formulate ideas with just a few words. Users will no longer have to use full sentences when talking to the system. It also has vision capabilities, allowing it to take photos and even analyze the images. With new capabilities like asking them to order groceries or send out event invites to friends, Alexa+ is designed to be able to memorize personal details including diets and movie preferences. Additional uses could be to allow Alexa+ to study guides and test you on answers while also researching trips and coming up with itineraries.
Alexa+ costs $19.99 USD per month on its own, if the use is not an Amazon Prime member. Amazon also crated a new Alexa app to match with the new assistant. Alexa+ is said to be able to work on “almost every” Alexa device released so far, including the Echo Show 8, 10, 15 and 21. For more information, check out New Alexa.
