Kendrick Lamar's 'GNX' Surpasses Travis Scott's 'UTOPIA' Streaming Record
Breaking a new record for the 2020s.

Kendrick Lamar has yet another accolade to add to his roster for his ultra successful GNX album. While 2025 is only two months in, it’s been a busy year for the rapper who came off of 2024 with a rap beef versus Drake that led to the hit diss track “Not Like Us.” The song won him five Grammy awards and a performance at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show the following weekend.
Now, it seems that his latest body of work has broken a streaming record previously held by Travis Scott . When Scott dropped UTOPIA in July 2023, the song became the fastest rap album to hit two billion streams in the 2020s. It reportedly took the album 114 days at the time. However, Lamar’s GNX has surpassed that record, taking over as the fastest rap album to hit the mark with only 96 days, according to NFR Podcast.
The Compton rapper continues to rise to the top, with his latest tracks “Not Like Us,” “Luther” with SZA, “TV Off” and “Squabble Up” landing on the Billboard Hot 100 in the top five positions. Despite one-upping Drake in the “Not Like Us” beef, Drake did return to Spotify’s chart, reclaiming his title as the No. 1 artist, while Kendrick sits at No. 2. Both remain at the top of the game and only time will tell how this will play out in the future.
Kendrick Lamar’s 'GNX' surpasses Travis Scott’s 'UTOPIA' as the FASTEST Rap album to reach 2B streams in the 2020s decade 🤯
