New Era is partnering with STRICT-G, Bandai’s specialized apparel brand, to launch a collaborative collection inspired by the iconic Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. The capsule encompasses New Era’s signature headwear alongside a range of apparel and accessories.
The selection spotlights four of New Era’s classic silhouettes: the 59FIFTY, 9FIFTY, 9FORTY and 9TWENTY. The designs – ranging from detailed embroideries to specific colorways – draw inspiration from the Earth Federation Forces and the Principality of Zeon, the two central factions in the Gundam Universal Century timeline. Notably, the 9TWENTY models feature a distinctive distressed canvas finish, while a standout 9FIFTY cap includes embroidery commemorating the “One Year War,” the series’s most pivotal conflict.
Expanding beyond headwear, the collection includes a collaborative T-shirt that features a classic anime scene on the front and a detailed text description of the “One Year War” conflict on the back. The capsule is rounded out by a unique keychain designed as a miniature cap modeled after the series’ mascot, Haro.
With prices ranging from ¥2,750 – ¥7,150 JPY (approx. $20 – $45 USD), the New Era x Mobile Suit Gundam collection is available for purchase starting January 3, 2026, at New Era’s website. Check out the full range above.
