Pitti Uomo has added another major highlight to its January 2026 program for its 109th edition, announcing that Japanese designer Shinya Kozuka will headline the Special Event with his eponymous label, SHINYAKOZUKA.
Kozuka, who founded SHINYAKOZUKA in 2015 after graduating from Central Saint Martins, is celebrated for his brand concept of “Picturesque Scenery.” Each collection draws inspiration from painterly landscapes, with designs often rooted in sketches and artworks that blur the line between fashion and fine art.
Francesca Tacconi, Special Events Coordinator at Pitti Immagine, praised Kozuka’s ability to explore the boundaries between individuality and expression, noting how his work reconciles contrasts: Tokyo’s urban atmospheres with workwear functionality, hand-painted silhouettes with traditional uniforms, and craftsmanship with personal sensibility.
Following recent news of SOSHIOTSUKI and Hed Mayner being named Guest Designers for the same edition, Kozuka’s participation underscores the fair’s commitment to spotlighting diverse voices in contemporary menswear. His Florence debut will be staged in collaboration with the Japan Fashion Week Organization, marking a significant moment for both the designer and the event’s international reach.
