The 2019 LVMH Karl Lagerfeld Prize winner now joins a lineup of visionaries as guest designer.
Summary
- Hed Mayner is announced as Guest Designer for Pitti Uomo’s No. 109 Edition
- The 2019 LVMH Karl Lagerfeld Prize winner will stage a special runway show in Florence, January 2026
Following the recent announcement of Soshiotsuki’s participation for Pitti Uomo No. 109, the Florentine trade fair has now revealed its second major highlight: Israeli-born, Paris-based designer Hed Mayner will also be joining the upcoming edition as Guest Designer.
Mayner’s aesthetic is characterized by a unique balance of contrasts, merging strength and lightness, craftsmanship and tailoring. His approach is described as conceptual and almost architectural, yet it remains in open dialogue with the fluidity of the present. The collection is rooted in a central focus on the body, using fit, proportions, and freedom of movement to define a confident, yet never imposing, attitude. He is known for garments that defy convention – of gender, context and even gravity – by interpreting sculptural and oversized forms.
In response to the invitation, Mayner expressed gratitude and excitement, stating, “It is a great honor to be a part of Pitti, which represents a genuine support for creativity… This new context will encourage me to try new things.” His participation underscores Pitti Uomo’s ongoing commitment to spotlighting designers who challenge the status quo while honoring craftsmanship and innovation.
Set to take place from January 13 – 16, 2026, the event will feature a special runway presentation by Mayner, marking his debut at Pitti Uomo.
