The first major expansion for the co-op spin-off.
Summary
- The first major DLC for Elden Ring Nightreign, The Forsaken Hollows, will release on December 4, 2025
- The expansion adds two new Nightfarer classes, two new final bosses and a new region known as The Great Hollow
The Elden Ring universe is expanding further with the announcement of the first major DLC for the multiplayer co-op spin-off, Elden Ring Nightreign, titled The Forsaken Hollows. The base game, which was released earlier this year on May 29, 2025, reimagined the original critically acclaimed 2022 fantasy RPG as a survival action experience where players team up to confront the dangers of the night.
This new DLC continues the studio’s tradition of expanding its dark fantasy universe with fresh challenges, lore and atmospheric environments. Positioned as a major content update, The Forsaken Hollows invites players back into the Lands Between with new narrative threads and gameplay opportunities.
The expansion introduces two new playable characters and two additional bosses, broadening the scope of combat and exploration. According to early previews, the Forsaken Hollows setting emphasizes a haunting, subterranean atmosphere, with environments designed to evoke both dread and discovery.
The gameplay reveal trailer highlights intricate level design, eerie lighting, and encounters that promise to test even seasoned players. These additions reflect FromSoftware’s hallmark approach — layering punishing combat with rich world-building that rewards persistence and curiosity.
Elden Ring: Nightreign – The Forsaken Hollows is set to launch on December 4, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
