Following the earlier “Another Kingdom” Backgammon Set, Taras Yoom expands the Yoomoota art universe with the “Diamond Age” collection, a silver‑and‑diamond series created in collaboration with GASP Diamonds. The release continues Yoom’s exploration of games as narrative devices while introducing jewelry‑grade materials and gemsetting into his sculptural practice.
The collection’s centerpiece, “Another Kingdom: Diamond Age,” enlarges the artist’s acclaimed gaming line by reframing its battlefield as a moment of pause where knowledge and safety eclipse the drive for dominance. The chess set functions as a meditation on wealth, power and renewal, translating Yoom’s conceptual narrative into a materially rich object that foregrounds diamonds as symbols of wisdom rather than mere status.
Rounding out the series is “Old Money: Diamond Age,” a special‑edition sculpture that converts that artist’s earlier plastic works into a tactile silver piece incorporating authentic banknotes that were withdrawn from circulation in more than 15 countries. Using Yoom’s acrylic‑baking technique to preserve each bill’s texture and colour, the work reframes monetary symbolism as heritage and intergenerational influence rather than simple currency.
On view at PAD London 2025 through October 19, the limited chess series is produced in two editions, each containing 55 carats of gemstones: 21 sets set with lab‑grown diamonds and 11 with natural diamonds. Every set includes an embedded NFC chip serving as a digital certificate to validate, authenticate and record provenance. The lab‑grown diamond chess set is priced at $60,000 USD, with natural‑diamond pricing available on request via the Yoomoota website.
