Rolls-Royce Bets Big on Bespoke with $370M USD Investment in Goodwood Facility
With the site extension to expand Bespoke and Coachbuild capabilities.
Rolls-Royce has announced a landmark investment exceeding $370 million USD to expand its manufacturing facility at Goodwood, marking its largest financial commitment to the site since its 2003 opening.
The 2024 expansion aims to increase the company’s capacity for Bespoke and Coachbuild projects, reflecting rising demand for highly personalized luxury cars. Rolls-Royce reported a 10 percent year-on-year rise in Bespoke content value, achieving record results. The facility currently employs over 2,500 individuals, with plans for further growth as site preparations are already underway.
The record-setting year for Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke division was highlighted by intricate commissions featuring materials like 18-carat gold and holographic paint finishes. The Middle East emerged as the leader in Bespoke value, followed closely by North America and Europe. Additionally, the Coachbuild program unveiled the Arcadia Droptail, continuing the marque’s tradition of creating unique, high-value masterpieces.
Global sales reached 5,712 vehicles, the third-highest in Rolls-Royce history. The introduction of four new models, including the Cullinan Series II and Ghost Series II, alongside the electric Spectre, drove demand. North America remained the marque’s largest sales region while emerging markets like Thailand and Malaysia also showed notable growth.
