Levi's Lunar New Year Collection Is Fitted With 24K Gold
Championing the Year of the Snake’s “liveliness and agility,” the good-fortuned lineup includes thematic denim pieces for both men and women.
The Year of the Snake will officially kick off on January 29, when the Lunar calendar begins a new year — and fashion, like usual, is well-prepared for the annual fête. Brands like BAPE, RAINS, Stone Island and Diesel have already dished out capsule collections inspired by the serpent, and Levi’s has just joined the party with a line of jubilant denim pieces for the occasion.
The collection looks to combine Americana’s style tropes with Chinese New Year’s lucky symbolism across men’s and women’s silhouettes. In both categories, the label introduces a series of thematic trousers with 24K gold-plated buckles and woven rope designs that are meant to represent the “liveliness and agility” of the Year of the Snake. Men’s bottoms include the Levi‘s 502 tapered jeans and Levi‘s 541 loose tapered jeans, while women’s pants consist of Levi’s Ribcage high-waisted straight-leg jeans.

Elsewhere, the lineup includes denim jackets and hooded sweatshirts with woven elements modeled after the snake, as well as flight jackets and a number of knitted products, including high-slit dresses and reverse collar sweaters — all nodding to next year’s good fortune.
