Seoul-based architecture and design firm Joongho Choi, has renovated a top-floor apartment to reflect the unique lifestyle and taste of the residing client. While aligning with a distinctly South Korean design aesthetic through sleek metal walls and contemporary furniture designs, a warm touch is provided by soft brown wood stains and a bold pop of neon orange applied throughout the space.

In the main space, statement storage solutions are hidden in plain sight, blending seamlessly with the bare interiors. Calming sage green wooden cabinets in the foyer maintain a subtle wood grain, providing a unique organic effect. Upon entry, a reflective metal wall greets visitors, reaching past the open kitchen to the living room to hide an extensive closet system. In the center of the space, a pair of curvilinear neon orange storage counters serve as functional centerpieces.

The neon orange is a consistent thread, appearing on the metal footrests of custom wooden barstools, covering floor-to-ceiling shelves in the foyer, and on a slim strip of wall separating the kitchen from the bedroom corridor. The kitchen cabinets and backsplash continue to utilize the lustrous chrome applied to the closet system, while wooden slats above ground the area with a natural accent. Elsewhere, the wood stain is used for a closed entertainment center and storage headboard in the open-plan bedroom.

In the living room, custom wooden furniture follows the modern visual language of the apartment while a curved metal clothing rack runs along the perimeter, like a high-end boutique. Finally, the bathroom reprises the bright orange hue with grand execution. A chrome wall leads into the bathroom where a bright orange grid of tiles makes up the bulk of the walls and white tile covers the floors.
