After shifting release dates a few times, the shoe has been uploaded to Nike’s SNKRS platform, revealing the shoe’s official images. As noted previously, the sneaker features wear-away layers that reveal a wide variety of colors atop the leather upper. Update: The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Self-Expression” is one of many new colorways of the AJ1 to be releasing in celebration of the model’s 40th anniversary. Previewed previously below, we speculated that it may feature a wear-away upper. Now, new early images of the sneaker have been shared, confirming that various colors are present beneath the black paint. Everything from red and royal blue to magenta and yellow appear under the initial layer. This element offers ample customization options and ties into the overarching “Self-Expression” theme. Release is now expected to take place on July 12 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $180 USD.

Update: Jordan Brand’s celebration of 40 years of the Air Jordan 1 continues to take place with more colorways and collaborations en route. One pair that we discussed at the beginning of the year is a new “Black/Muslin” colorway. The pair has since surfaced, revealing its “Self-Expression” name, updated release date, and offering an early glance at what to expect. Its leather upper appears in black with “Muslin” coating the midsole. Upon closer inspection of the shoe, hints of white, red, and blue are all included at the edges of the upper’s structure, indicating that it may have a wear-away finish. Release is now expected to take place on August 9 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $180 USD.

While we lack a physical preview of the shoe — a mock-up based on the color scheme is included above — it will sport both “Black” and “Muslin” detailing throughout its build.
