For a fresh start to the new year, Anthony Edwards‘ signature adidas shoe is set to be released in a white colorway dubbed “Stormtrooper.”
Borrowing from the early-aughts era adidas Crazy 1 “Stormtrooper,” the basketball sneaker is remixed with the utmost subtle execution. The black textile upper half is contrasted with the titanium white lower half, rendered in its sculptural shape. The white midsole blends seamlessly with the perforated uppers, recalling the white armor worn by Storm Troopers in Star Wars.
Red details appear on the adidas emblem on the back heel and in glimpses of accenting the bottoms of the soles. For a final futuristic touch, the top of the toe box boasts a small reflective feature that illuminates under direct light.
“Stormtrooper” follows up on another recent AE1 “Metallic Grey,” which shared a similarly pared-back aesthetic with neutral tones of grey dominating the shoe.
