One of Nicki Minaj‘s alleged former managers is suing her of assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

TMZ reports that Brandon Garrett, Minaj’s supposed manager around April 2024, is accusing the rapper of physically and verbally assaulting him. He claims that during the tour’s Detroit stop, she slapped him in the face and caused his head to swing backward and his has to fly off after she became enraged over him delegating someone else to pick up her prescription.

Minaj alleged screamed at Garrett in her dressing room, “Are you f*cking crazy having him pick up my prescription? You have lost your f*cking mind and if my husband were here, he would knock out your f*cking teeth. You’re a dead man walking. You just f*cked up your whole life and you will never be anyone, I’ll make sure of it.” She also supposedly repeatedly told him that his “life is over” before striking his him on the right side of his face with an open hand. The rapper’s security team began swarming Garrett, then she struck his wrist and knocked documents out of his hand before telling him to “get the f*ck out.”

Garrett says he fled to a restroom at Little Caesars Arena and called his fiancée to inform her of what just happened, adding that he stayed in the bathroom for hours out of fear for his own safety. He claims that his wrist was throbbing and his face was sore.

He also alleged that Minaj’s team refused to let him board the tour bus back to Chicago, leaving him stranded in Detroit. Garrett is seeking damages.

Minaj’s attorney Judd Burstein told TMZ, “At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty, and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations.” He continued, “However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”
