redveil Returns With "what3ver"
Fans suspect the cut signals a new project is on the way in 2025.
redveil has dropped off another atmospheric cut. Entitled “what3ver” the new offering is what fans hope marks the start of redveil’s next album era.
It was redveil’s “Soulfood” single from 2020 that put the young rapper/producer on the map; he then followed up the cut with 2020 album Niagara and then 2022’s learn 2 swim. Since learn 2 swim, redveil has joined hands with Denzel Curry on the remix of “pg baby” and, most notably, JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown on Scaring The H*es track “Kingdom Hearts Key”). As for his most recent long-form release, that was the six-track playing w/fire EP, which will be two years old in April.
The just-under-three-minute “what3ver” finds redveil in his typical zone, delivering profound lyrics over an ethereal self-produced beat.
“I just put my casket outfit together / It’s a fresh brown tee and them jeans you like / And your favorite mohair sweater / Or the wool, which one look better? / Let me know before I die,” he ponders on the second verse.
