New Balance Wraps the 9060 "Dark Olivine" in Army Green Suede

The contemporary model is given a uniform character by the neutral green tone usually found on military-issue garments

New Balance‘s latest variant of the 9060 showcases the retrofuturistic model in a new green hue reminiscent of vintage military-issue garments. The “Dark Olivine” colorway blends shades of khaki, olive and sage green for a dynamic visual effect that sits comfortably between tradition and minimalism.

Warm olive green suede dominates the uppers, framing vignettes of green mesh and sage-hued underlays. The silhouette’s famously chunky lower half is rendered with a khaki midsole and a black outsole for stark contrast.

A shiny sage heel counter protrudes from the backside, where the black NB emblem is embroidered into the heel tab. In the front, braided green laces match the palette of the uppers, sandwiched by two New Balance word marks on the bottom of the eye stays and at the top of the suede tongue.

While 9060 “Dark Olivine” is not an official military sneaker, New Balance can claim authentic military issue on the 950v2a, a 2014 shoe made in partnership with the US Department of Defence. The pair inspired the 1906M, which surfaced in 2024, complete with Fantom Fit uppers originally commissioned for the US armed forces.

The New Balance 9060 in “Dark Olivine” does not have an official release date as of the time of writing. Stay tuned for updates as the model is expected to be released by Spring 2025.
