The latest release from Rolex is one for die-hard fans and to many many’s surprise, it’s not a watch. Rolex has partnered up with Wallpaper* to publish Oyster Perpetual Submariner – The Watch That Unlocked The Deep, the first authorized book documenting the complete history of the Rolex Submariner — one of the most recognized models by the acclaimed watch brand.
Penned by Nicholas Foulkes, a renowned historian and watch expert, the 252-page book goes in-depth on the Oyster Perpetual Submariner’s history. Speaking on this release, Arnaud Boetsch, Director of Communication & Image at Rolex notes, “The Submariner, the archetype of the diver’s watch, epitomizes the historic link between Rolex and underwater exploration. Over time it has evolved into an iconic timepiece whose renown extends well beyond the marine world, becoming the true action watch of choice for a wide range of sports and other activities.”
Priced at £100 GBP (approx $132 USD) and avaiable in English and French, the hardback version will be released through select retailers starting October 1. From September 16 – 19, limited-edition silk-bound copies are open for pre-order through Wallpaper*’s store.
