Trailborn Highlands Is a New Boutique Hotel Inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains
The earthy-hued hotel has opened its doors in North Carolina’s Highlands.
New York-based interior and architecture studio LOVEISENOUGH has designed a new hotel in North Carolina’s Highlands, a town located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, for Trailborn. The hotel itself is called Trailborn Highlands and features a design inspired by the acres of lush forest surrounding it.
Consisting of 63 rooms, guests are welcomed into the space with a cozy lounge outfitted with a stone fireplace situated next to deep green couches, accentuated with shades of umber and yellow. Light wood paneled floors and green and cream walls lends to a natural feel, while large windows look out onto a balcony. Designers used goods from local artists to decorate the space, from quiltmaking to pottery.
Inside the rooms, which vary in size, are a myriad of features integrating the woods, including balconies, firepits and outdoor patios. The furniture inside is constructed out of cherry wood, adding a touch of warmth. For those hosting events at Traiborn Highlands, there’s also a spacious log cabin on the property that can be converted for a variety of uses.
In the fall, the hotel will also encompass a Nordic spa, along with a restaurant dubbed The Highlands Supper Club, the latter of which will live in a previously residential cabin built in 1924.
Trailborn aims to build boutique hotels in premium outdoors destinations and is currently developing additional properties in North Carolina, Arizona and California. Take a closer look at the Traiborn Highlands above. The hotel is open for bookings now.
