We’re just over a month away from the start of the NBA’s 2024-25 season and one player that’s looking to build new momentum after a season of limited play is Ja Morant. The electric guard ended last season with a shoulder injury and is poised to bring the Memphis Grizzlies back into playoff contention, doing so while wearing his second signature shoe with Nike.
We caught an early look at the Nike Ja 2 over the summer, which led to the reveal of several colorways, including holiday looks dedicated to Halloween and Christmas. Now, after the purple “Stargazer” pair was rumored to debut the sneaker in October, we now know that it is this “Induction” design that will be dropping first. Starting with a light blue that the Grizzlies have become known for, it notably sports slash marks across its upper, which is an approach that Nike Basketball had used on the Ja 1 as well. While its technical specifications have not yet been shared by the Swoosh, you can expect it to sport court-ready technology.
At the time of writing, we’re still awaiting Nike’s official announcement of Ja Morant’s second signature shoe. However, this “Induction” colorway is currently expected to drop on September 26 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $120 USD.
