UNIQLO Has Just Dropped Its KAWS + Warhol UT Collection
Celebrating the artists’ first collaborative exhibition.
UNIQLO’s highly anticipated KAWS + Warhol UT collection has now launched worldwide. Teased earlier this month, the graphic range is specially designed to commemorate the joint exhibition at The Andy Warhol Museum, mixing both of the artists’ revered artwork on everyday staples.
As with their debut exhibition together, the new arrival marks the first time their work has featured alongside each other in a dedicated UNIQLO collection. Previously, KAWS has provided exclusive iterations of his signature characters for the brand’s T-shirts, bags as well as toys while Warhol’s estate has been rehashed and applied his print onto a number of limited-edition mid-layers. Having garnered widespread success in these drops, it makes sense why the new collaboration is already selling out globally.
Speaking on the collection, curator of the KAWS + Warhol UT exhibition Patrick Moore says, “Both of these artists have disrupted the traditional boundaries between commercial and fine art as an integral part of their practice. UNIQLO’s role moves seamlessly between the exhibition, merchandise, and a beautiful catalog reaching an enormous international audience.”

Taking a closer look at the drop, an extensive line-up of coach jackets, sweatshirts, T-shirts, lounge pants, and accessories feature in the collection. On each piece, UNIQLO pairs one print with a sketch, weaving the artists’ unique aesthetics together in a balanced tribute. The hero design – which finds the KAWS Companion figure in the iconic cross-eyes next to Warhol’s Moon Explorer Robot illustration – lands on three products: a jacket, T-shirt, and bag.
A grey sweatsuit also stands out as a must-have set from the range. For the top, KAWS’ character is seen holding Warhol’s pop-art banana print, and on the matching bottoms, the two hallmarks are seen tucked into the pocket and beside the ankle. This playful arrangement can be seen across the collection with artwork placed in unexpected places on the garments and accessories.
