Todd Snyder will return to the official New York Fashion Week calendar this September, almost five years after his last show in the American fashion capital, according to WWD.

Snyder last showed in New York in February 2020, just before the onset of the COVID pandemic. He then took a substantial break from the runway, while restructuring his business with less emphasis on wholesale.

Snyder returned to the runway as a guest designer at Pitti Uomo in Florence in January, which he told the outlet was a “great moment for me and the brand.” He added, “It was the biggest show I’d ever done — 80 looks total: 50 from the Todd Snyder collection and 30 Woolrich Black Label. I got my mojo back and fell in love with shows again.”

“As an American designer, it made sense to do it in New York,” he said of his return. His forthcoming show, which is scheduled to take place on September 8 at 3:30 p.m. ET, will be much smaller than his Italian spectacle. Instead, Snyder plans to stage an intimate, salon-style runway at Le Rock in Rockefeller Center for roughly 50 guests.

The collection will include “a mix, so expect to see military references, coastal living pieces. It’ll be a juxtaposition of tailoring infused with other influences,” he said. The location ties into the theme, too, he revealed.

Stay tuned to Hypebeast for more coverage of Todd Snyder’s return to New York next month.
