Yu Nagaba x thisisneverthat Is Super Sketchy
A range of apparel and home goods adorned with Nagaba’s signature sketches.
Yu Nagaba has offered his sketches to a slew of streetwear outfitters, recently linking up with UNIQLO on the label’s Disney capsule. The Japanese visual artist is now connecting with the Korean imprint and collaboration king, thisisneverthat, to stamp his sketches across a selection of apparel and home goods.
The capsule sees Nagaba tap into a handful of hip-hop classics to inform his drawings, with the offering’s standout piece – a nylon black work jacket – etched with “Check Your Head” on the backside, a reference to the Beastie Boys’ studio album. A sketch of the album cover is imprinted underneath.
While the capsule is predominantly dipped in neutral hues of gray, black and white, another t-shirt surfaces in a pastel blue color with a basketball sketch stamped in the middle.
Blue accenting also appears on a ceramic mug, complete with intricate sketching of a basketball player throughout the silhouette. Hits of bright blue also appear on a pair of printed white shorts, which come accompanied by a bucket hat that’s dipped in the same design.
