Rae Hersey Touched Down in Sunny Los Angeles for Summer Styling Tips With Locals

Rae Hersey brings her own unique flair to New York City’s streets as she often shapeshifts between style sensibilities. As a fashion and vintage lover, she hosts a few social series, including “Vintage in the City” and “All the Angles.” Taking her on-the-street interviews to the West Coast, Hersey touched down in LA to ask locals about how the city informs their personal style.
Tagging along with Monster Energy, Hersey visited Melrose Avenue and flea markets around the area to interview locals about their personal summer style, how they express themselves artistically, and their best styling tips. There’s a laidback essence that many carry into their fashion outlook, and Hersey wanted to dive into how the sprawling, coastal city inspires that ‘cool’ factor.

Hersey surveyed some of the city’s most stylish about whether they’re into current fashion and footwear trends, like Crocs, and asked them to describe the energy of their looks. Many wore some of the same major labels, like Balenciaga, but each styled their ensembles in their own distinct ways. One flea market attendee described his look as “black cat,” while another coined hers, “Sex and the City if Sex and the City was in LA.”
