Karma Unveils New Range-Extender Hybrid SUV: The Ivara
To also be made available with a 100 percent electric motor.
California-based luxury automaker Karma recently introduced the Ivara “GT-UV” Design Study, a concept SUV, first showcased during this year’s Monterey Car Week. This concept car signals the brand’s next step in electric and hybrid vehicle innovation, embodying its vision for a future lineup of eco-conscious luxury vehicles.`V
The Ivara, envisioned as a Grand Touring Utility Vehicle (GT-UV), offers a glimpse into Karma’s strategy to cater to diverse market demands. It will be available in two versions: a fully electric model and a range-extender hybrid. The latter combines electric propulsion with a petrol engine, designed to recharge the battery as well as enhance driving range and versatility.
Notably, the Ivara’s design reflects Karma’s latest “Comet Line” styling, characterized by sleek, aerodynamic lines and a distinct lack of a traditional front grille. This futuristic aesthetic continues with a low, aggressive front end, seamlessly integrated with the windshield and rear window, giving the SUV a sporty yet luxurious appearance.
One of the standout features of the Ivara is its innovative bodywork. The SUV’s underside is coated with a self-repairing matte finish, designed to minimize scratches and surface damage through microscopic segmentation. The debut of the Ivara marks a significant milestone for Karma, however, details on price and availability are yet to be announced at the time of writing.
