Aēsop Opens New Eau de Parfum Chapter With “Virēre”

Aēsop is announcing a “Virēre,” the eleventh fragrance to be welcomed into its growing range of Eau de Parfums.

Described by its makers as “an unconventional blend, evoking sun-warmed citrus fruits, fragrant fig trees and green tea,” the new fragrance is a refreshing departure from Aēsop’s “Othertopias” collection, which focused on much more nuanced and complex aromas.

“Virēre“ invites its wearers to savor even the brief moments of serenity, opening with a calming yet energizing blend of bergamot and green tea. As the scent reacts with the wearer’s skin, the sweet woody aromas of fig trees gradually seep  through, creating “ a verdant memory.”

Barnabé Fillion, a long-term fragrance collaborator with Aēsop conceptualized “Virēre” based on her vacation memories in the Mediterranean. “There is something poetic to me about taking time to be under the fig tree and to make the right tea,” he recalled, explaining that the new scent is something that can transport him back to those serene mornings he spent under a sunlit canopy.

Priced at $1,100 HKD (around $140 USD), “Virēre“ will be available through Aēsop’s physical stores and online shop starting September 2.
