Charli XCX Became the Face of SKIMS’ New Campaign

Charli XCX became the face of SKIMS this week, starring in the solutions-oriented label’s latest campaign. Shot by Petra Collins, the sartorial delivery sees Brat summer’s leader sport the brand’s Cotton Rib and Cotton Fleece collections.

“SKIMS empowers people to feel confident in their own skin, which is the essence of Brat,” said Charli. “I am excited to be working with a brand that understands that comfort and style don’t need to be compromised. Shooting with Petra for this campaign was a dream and I was so excited to get on set and wear these timeless, sexy pieces. Also the puppies were beyond cute.”

“Having Charli XCX as the face of our new SKIMS campaign is so exciting. She is a one of a kind talent who has truly cemented herself as a megastar within music and beyond,” Kim Kardashian added. “This is such an exciting time for the brand, and we are honored Charli and Petra chose to collaborate with us as SKIMS is always trying to highlight individuals at the forefront of culture.”

Dao-Yi Chow Made His New Era Debut

In May, Dao-Yi Chow stepped up as New Era’s vice president and creative director, calling the assignment a “full-circle moment,” as the brand is not only his personal cap of choice, but it was also the catalyst for his successful headwear collaborations at Public School, the streetwear brand he launched with Maxwell Osborne in 2008. Now, reuniting with the team in an all-new capacity, he’s gearing up to launch his first-ever collection, dubbed “Inaugural Season,” for the brand’s first namesake apparel line, “BRAND NEW ERA TM.”

Ringing in the sub-label’s launch next month, Chow has just dropped off its debut campaign starring a slew of next-generation faces: Carlisle Aikens, Idriys Ali-Chow, Fisher Smith and Jonah Lowe. The sartorial delivery, shot by Ari Marcopoulos and styled by Matthew Henson, spotlights the new brand’s apparel, headwear and accessories — all of which are slated to release in three capsules.

Clare Waight Keller Revealed Her First Menswear Collection for UNIQLO

Last summer, British fashion designer Clare Waight Keller joined forces with UNIQLO to launch a collaborative, more affordable womenswear line titled UNIQLO : C. Stitched with her signatures — fluidity, movement and femininity — the brand’s initial launches were well-received; and now, Keller has returned to expand the label to include menswear, too.

“I am thrilled to be launching menswear alongside womenswear for the new collection,” Keller said in a statement. “I have always loved the interplay between the utility of men’s clothing with the feminine elements of womenswear. These collections see the two combine seamlessly in palette, fabrication and style, creating a wardrobe of truly interchangeable pieces.”

Keller’s debut UNIQLO : C menswear includes soft-toned broadcloth shirts with oversized fits, high V-neck lambswool tops and felted tailored coats. On the more casual side, the lineup includes laidback parkas, parachute trousers and muted sweatpants, as well as a nylon tote and monochromatic sneakers.

Todd Snyder Will Return to New York Fashion Week

Todd Snyder will return to the official New York Fashion Week calendar this September, almost five years after his last show in the American fashion capital, according to WWD.

Snyder last showed in New York in February 2020, just before the onset of the COVID pandemic. He then took a substantial break from the runway while restructuring his business with less emphasis on wholesale.

“As an American designer, it made sense to do it in New York,” he said of his return. His forthcoming show, which is scheduled to take place on September 8 at 3:30 p.m. ET, will be much smaller than his Italian spectacle. Instead, Snyder plans to stage an intimate, salon-style runway at Le Rock in Rockefeller Center for roughly 50 guests.

Troye Sivan Starred in Gap’s Fall 2024 Campaign

Troye Sivan was the star of Gap’s “Get Loose” campaign this week, appearing in a bevy of classic Gap images and a dancing campaign video.

In the visual, Sivan and the CDK Company perform choreography to Thundercat’s “Funny Thing,” while wearing the brand’s clothes.

“Being part of the Gap campaign and wearing their denim feels like a perfect fit. Dance has become a staple in my life, giving me confidence and a sense of timeless cool,” said Troye Sivan. “I’m honored to be part of something that embodies such effortless style and self-expression.”

“This fall, we are celebrating Gap’s 55-year heritage in denim with a collection of loose styles that allow for self-expression,” said Mark Breitbard, the president and CEO of Gap. “Our new campaign featuring Troye Sivan perfectly captures the spirit of this moment with an attitude that showcases the movement of our denim and delivers fashion as entertainment.”

Nike and Phaidon Announced Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good: Nike Apparel Book

Nike has partnered with Phaidon to create an all-new book documenting women’s sportswear and its historical significance, titled Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good: Nike Apparel.

Across more than 350 pages and 575 pictures, the binding looks to illustrate the connection between female-identifying athletes and their wardrobes through five archetypes: warm-ups, jerseys, leggings, sports bras and shorts. The book’s images include recreations of Nike’s early trade catalogues, vintage and contemporary photography, sketches, advertisements, color palettes and more.

Alongside the visuals, the book includes interviews with Nike athletes, trainers and collaborators including Sha’Carri Richardson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Caster Semenya, Joan Benoit Samuelson, Dina Asher-Smith, Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe, Scout Bassett and Naomi Osaka.
