Legendary artist and prolific sneaker collaborator Futura rejoined Nike earlier this year to release a new project featuring the SB Dunk Low, which landed in our round-up of the Hypebeast staff’s favorite shoes of the year so far. Now, it has been revealed that there’s more on the way from the duo as his artwork has now graced the Nike Jam — the Swoosh’s newly unveiled breakdancing shoe for this year’s Olympic Games.
The new colorway begins with an off-white upper that is accented by reflective silver and black detailing at the Swooshes and striped overlay. It sports a mixed material build that rests atop the breakdancing-ready sole unit in white, off-white and black at the outsole. Where this pair stands out most is at the lining and sockliner, which are covered in Futura’s out-of-this-world artwork. Nike branding drawn in Futura’s signature style rests at the heel and is joined by “FT. FUTURA” text to complete the look.
At the time of writing, neither Futura nor Nike have confirmed when their collaborative take on the new Nike Jam silhouette is set to release. Stay tuned for updates as it’s currently expected to drop on the day of the opening ceremony for this year’s Olympic Games, July 26, via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $130 USD.
