A Band Rehearsal Turns Deadly in Childish Gambino’s “Lithonia” Music Video
Starring Gambino alongside Suzanna Son and Alex Wolff.
After releasing his final album under the Childish Gambino moniker, Bando Stone & The New World, the artist has dropped a visual for the track “Lithonia.”
Directed by Jack Begert, the video sees Gambino fronting a band performing the track in a dim room. Alex Wolff backs Gambino on the drums, while his longtime collaborator Ludwig Göransson plays the guitar. On the floor watching the rehearsal is actress Suzanna Son.
As the song comes to a close, things quickly take a post-apocalyptic turn – cue to Son running through the forest, fearing for her life.
Bando Stone & The New World was released on Friday, marking Gambino’s fifth studio LP. In a recent interview ahead of its premiere, Gambino described the project as inspired by a “feature film idea he had years ago, about a musician recording his masterpiece on a remote island when a global calamity strikes.”
