Update: Aimé Leon Dore has just dropped its Fall/Winter 2024 collection and in addition to its expansive range of apparel, the brand included two New Balance 990v4 colorways that we spotted previously. Arriving in “Olive” and “Orange,” the two pairs both feature a mesh base with suede overlays as co-branding arrives at the sockliner. For those interested in grabbing either colorway, both are available in a full size run via the ALD website at a price of $210 USD each.
Original Story: New Balance has a broad range of collaborators that it works with, and Aimé Leon Dore stands out as one of its closest partners of the past 5 years. The duo has been a recipe for success, leading to ALD founder Teddy Santis being appointed as the lead of New Balance’s MADE in USA line in 2021. Their most recent projects include three-packs of the 1000 and 860v2 silhouettes, with the latter as a pre-order set to arrive next spring.
Our latest preview of the duo’s work involves the two assembling new colorways of the 990v4. We caught a first look at an “Olive” pair last week and now have an early glance at an orange iteration. The limited sneak peek sees an orange mesh base joined by orange suede overlays, as well as several gray overlays that match the “N” logos and heel tab. A mostly off-white midsole is backed by a black outsole while co-branding appears at the box and is likely to be present at the sockliner too.
At the time of writing, neither Aimé Leon Dore nor New Balance have discussed their forthcoming project involving this orange 990v4 colorway. Stay tuned for updates, including a complete set of visuals, as we currently expect the sneaker to arrive on shelves this fall via New Balance around the $210 USD price point.
