Zenith Nods to the City of Light With a Verdant-Green Defy Skyline Model

In anticipating the upcoming Summer Olympics, Zenith has prepared a limited-edition timepiece that draws inspiration from the City of Light itself.
Dubbed the Defy Skyline Édition Paris, this fresh iteration is outfitted with a gradient dial that’s rendered in a green verdigris color. Evoking a gentle summer mood, this calming yet lively hue serves as an ode to Paris’ striking horizon, where its distinct blend of classical and contemporary architecture is complemented by thriving flora and greenery.
The entire dial is adorned with the Maison’s hallmarked starry sky pattern, which adds to its alluring appeal. A closer look at the watch face reveals a slight weather-copper undertone. The dial treatment is also a nod to early Defy models from the ‘70s, particularly the A3642, A3690 and A3691 references, where the vignette effect was most prominently used.
Arriving in a 41mm case size, the watch is powered by Zenith’s emblematic El Primero 3620 automatic movement. Geared to run continuously for an average of 60 hours, the caliber, along with its iconic star-shaped oscillating weight, can be admired through the transparent caseback. In addition to the classic stainless steel bracelet, a starry sky-patterned rubber strap is also provided.
Priced at $9,800 USD, the Defy Skyline Édition Paris comes in a limited run of 50 numbered pieces. The timepiece is now available through Zenith’s online and physical Paris boutiques.
