Lanvin Embraces Fluidity for Its Spring 2025 Collection

The French fashion house pulls from its heritage to craft this coastal line.

Lanvin has released the lookbook for its latest Spring 2025 collection, a heritage-inspired range containing two capsules: one for holiday, titled “L’Été Lanvin,” and another for eveningwear, dubbed “Édition Soir.” The main highlight of this collection is the house’s signature “flou twist,” which emphasizes drapery and fluid tailoring for all garments.

“L’Été Lanvin” offers a tribute to the summer Jeanne Lanvin, Lanvin founder, and her daughter Marguerite spent in the French Riviera, while “Édition Soir” pulls from contemporary dance and leaders in the field like icons Loïe Fuller, Isadora Duncan and Pina Bausch. The former capsule spotlights daywear, bringing a new level of sophistication to everyday activities while the latter hones in on its masterful eveningwear. Gowns in “Édition Soir” are long and draped like elevated contemporary costumes to mimic the fluidity of the dancer’s movement.

Menswear styles stay subtle with classic silhouettes and a muted color palette that lends itself to the office. Tailoring is relaxed as jackets, shorts and trousers are perfectly slouchy. Dynamic elements, like popped shirt cuffs and layering, refresh these classic styles for the modern man. Materials also subvert expectations as mouliné gives garments a very thick and luxe look to contrast the lighter poplin shirts. Washed denim adds a more casual feel to these more buttoned-up pieces.

The womenswear shares the refinement of men’s garments but gets more playful by mixing and matching oversized garments with fitted ones. Dresses and tops, made from crêpe de chine and washed crêpe satin, pair with Art Deco-inspired embellishments. Daytime colors stay consistent with menswear but the eveningwear introduces vibrant hues of purple and green for an eye-catching flair.

The Lanvin Spring 2025 collection, including the “Édition Soir” line and “L’Été Lanvin” capsule, will be available globally online and in Lanvin boutiques worldwide starting in late 2024. Explore the collection in the gallery above.
