Name: Blue-Sun Summer 2024 Capsule
Retail Prices: $15-$38 USD
Release Date: Available Now
Where to Buy: Blue-Sun

Brooklyn-based record emporium Blue-Sun may be best known for its extensive selection of vinyl — house, reggae, dub, disco, jazz, hip-hop and more — as well as its powerful hi-fi system, but the store also releases seasonal merchandise drops, the most recent of which just touched down. Arriving just in time for the summer’s hottest days, the drop comprises four new logo T-shirt colorways and a long-requested slipmat, all printed by LQQK Studio.

Tees are built from 6.5oz cotton and boast Blue-Sun’s familiar sun-and-script logo front and center on the chest — a gold tee features a green logo, a washed brown tee boasts a black logo, a black tee comes equipped with a white logo and, last but not least, a white tee features a fitting blue logo. Unlike Blue-Sun’s last logo tee drop, which featured a large back print inspired by vintage newspaper ads, these tees opt for a back that’s completely clear of graphic embellishment, ensuring all attention is focused on the front.

Accompanying the tee offering is a 12’ “twist logo” slipmat, done up in black with a multi-part Blue-Sun logo printed in white. Made of professional-weight felt, it’s equally equipped for at-home listening or on-the-go DJs (for whom it’s sold in a two-pack). This release marks the first time in two years that Blue-Sun has dropped its logo tees and the first time in four years that the slipmat has been made available.

Head over to the Blue-Sun webstore or, if you’re in NYC, the shop itself (400 South 2nd Street, Brooklyn, NY, 11211) to grab the collection now. Tees are priced at $38 USD and a single slipmat costs $15 USD while a two-pack of slipmats can be had for $25 USD.
