The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Is Coming Back This October
Gigi Hadid and Tyra Banks reveal the show’s official date in a new teaser.
Update (08/28/2024): After confirming that its infamous runway show would return in true form earlier this year, Victoria’s Secret has shared an all-new promotional video for the event, starring supermodels Gigi Hadid and Tyra Banks, who reveal the much-anticipated catwalk’s official date.
In the clip, Hadid enters a luxury New York City apartment building and approaches the front desk, passing by pink-tinged Christmas decorations along the front corridor. Upon a gold bell’s ring, Banks reveals herself at the counter in a one-two step with Chappell Roan’s ”Femininomenon.” Banks then hands Hadid the show’s official invite, which states that the event will take place in New York City on October 15, 2024.

Original Story (05/15/2024): After a five-year hiatus, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is coming back in full form.
“We’ve read the comments and heard you,” the brand captioned a video announcement on Instagram. “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love — the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment and more! Stay tuned…it only gets more iconic from here.”
In September of last year, Victoria’s Secret soft-launched the revival of its infamous runway show, with the premiere of a documentary-style film that reimagined the concept with the “VS20,” a band of 20 creatives who curated four visual concepts across cities including Bogotá, Lagos, London and Tokyo. This next show, however, will look much more like the original.

Victoria’s Secret has struggled to recover its brand image since the original fashion show’s cancellation in 2019, when then-marketing chief Ed Rezak made highly insensitive comments in an interview with Vogue. At the time, Rezak told the outlet that he did not believe transgender models should be included in the show, nor did he believe there was any television interest in a runway that featured plus-sized models.
The brand’s image was further tarnished in 2020, with the premiere of a docu-series, titled Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons, which closely followed the label’s decline. In addition to highlighting the brand’s harmful perpetuation of toxic beauty standards, the series shed new light on L Brands’ CEO Les Wexner’s longtime affiliation with accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
The upcoming fashion show will mark Victoria’s Secret latest installment in its comeback tour. The brand has not yet shared exactly where or when the show will take place, but the announcement video notes that it will occur some time this fall.
