A Nike Kobe 5 Protro "Eggplant" Is Rumored to Release Next Year
Combining the purple hue with hits of “Black” and “Metallic Gold.”
Fans of the late Kobe Bryant’s signature shoe line with Nike Basketball have been rejoining at the fact that it has officially returned, and with that, production has ramped up significantly. While 2024’s releases are focusing on the Kobe 4, 6 and 8 Protro, silhouettes like the Kobe 5 Protro are expected to join in on the fun in 2025. After Vanessa Bryant revealed an “X-Ray” colorway back in March, we now have a new rumored colorway that is expected to arrive next year.
Sneaker leakers zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files are back with a new rumor — the Kobe 5 Protro is expected to appear in an “Eggplant” colorway in 2025. Depicted via the mock-up above, its specific detailing and color blocking remains unknown, however, a color composition of “Eggplant,” “Black” and “Metallic Gold” has been confirmed.
At the time of writing, the Nike Basketball team has not shared any details confirming whether or not this rumored “Eggplant” colorway of the Nike Kobe 5 Protro will be releasing next year. Stay tuned for updates, including a first look at the sneaker, as we currently expect the shoe to drop next spring via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $190 USD.
