We Are Rewind was launched with the goal of reviving the audio cassette and reworking it with new technology and a fresh look.

After a thorough design and developmental process, the brand has launched its minimal, clean-cut cassette player. Designers collaborated with French engineers who had created analog players firsthand back in the 1970s, as well as the sound equipment studio, ORA.

The result is a high-end cassette player that grants listeners a nostalgic experience and feel without the tediousness of using an analog player. One of We Are Rewind’s main concerns was longevity – rather than plastic, the player is made out of aluminum.

It still boasts some old-school features, such as fast forward/rewind buttons and a headphone output. There’s also an audio output for those wanting to make their own mixtapes.

Modernized updates come in the form of a Bluetooth connection for wireless earbuds, alongside a rechargeable battery that offers 12 hours of playing time.

Available on the We Are Rewind website, the cassette player comes in blue, gray and orange. The player alone is priced at $159 USD, though there are option headphone and mixtape add-ons.
