New Balance and Malbon Team Up to Reveal the 550 Golf

New Balance is switching things up, going from the court to the green with its new line of golf shoes with the help of golf fashion disruptors Malbon Golf. In recent years, the New Balance 550 has become a staple silhouette in the rotation and now, its latest NB 550 Golf iteration finds itself meeting the needs of modern golfers. The ’80s aesthetic returns to the golf course with the 550 Golf releases in three colorways. “White/Navy” and “White Black” will be exclusive to Malbon, while the “White/Green” colorway will also release through New Balance. All three versions see a waterproof upper and improved traction, making navigating the course for golfers effortless.

For the most part, the shoe maintains the 550’s signature silhouette through and through. The shoe sees a white leather upper base while green hits the color palette to accent parts of the heel counter, collar, “N” branding on the lateral part of the shoe, as well as the tongue label. To differentiate the 550 Golf from the original, the tongue label features a playful golf ball moniker that incorporates the brand’s “NB” branding. The label also reads “new balance golf,” to match the insole branding, as well. In addition to waterproof microfiber leather used to construct the upper, the shoe is also equipped with NDurance spikeless rubber outsoles. While no sign of Malbon branding is present, the shoes will also be accompanied by a co-branded New Balance x Malbon apparel range.

Look out for the New Balance 550 Golf “White/Green” online at New Balance for $140 USD, while all three colorways will drop on Malbon Golf’s website on April 23 at 10AM PST.
