Amazon’s live-action Fallout series premiered last week and already has fans revisiting the original games. The original Fallout, a post-apocalyptic RPG, was released in 1997 and has spawned 11 spin-offs in the past two decades.

2015’s Fallout 4 previously ranked 63rd on Steam’s daily active users and peaked at around 83,000 over the weekend, industry analyst Mat Piscatella reported, per Gamespot. In the days before and after the Fallout show was released on April 10, Fallout Shelter shot up to fourth place.

2018’s Fallout 76 rose from 54th to seventh place, while 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas went 83rd to 10th place, according to Piscatella.

Some were initially skeptical of Amazon’s Fallout adaptation when it was announced – post-apocalyptic video game-to-TV adaptations such as The Last of Us set a high bar and the genre has already received its fair share of series over the past few years. The show seems to have surpassed expectations with its inventiveness and fresh take, leading many to pick up their controllers and revisit the Fallout games, including those that were released well over a decade ago.
