Notably, the 625 is a direct descendant of the legendary 500 F2 — the car that propelled racer Alberto Ascari to consecutive World Championships in 1952 and 1953.
Upgraded to 625 F1 specifications in early 1954, this car marks the beginning of Ferrari’s foray with the Belgian national team, Ecurie Francorchamps and also boasts the unique distinction of being the only Ferrari monoposto raced by the revered Marquis Alfonso de Portago. Adding to its provenance, the car, chassis number 0540, spent over 15 years as part of the esteemed Bardinon Mas du Clos Collection.
This racing marvel carries with it a documented legacy, including a Ferrari Classiche inspection report and a detailed history by renowned Ferrari historian Marcel Massini.
