MIDO Releases Multifort TV Big Date S01E01
Limited to 999 units.
Swiss watchmaker MIDO is digging into the past with its new Multifort TV Big Date S01E01 timepiece. What stands out about the watch, is its retro-tv-inspired design that sees the well-known multi-colored striped TV screen. But for the limited-edition design, the watchmaker brings the TV screen to the watch’s face.
To construct the watch’s square case, MIDO looked at its models from 1973, 1980 and 2000. As such, the watch leads with a flat, square satin-finished and polished stainless steel case with a standout TV dial that sees four-faceted pyramids, offering the visual illusion of movement. Additionally, the 40×39.2mm watch features sapphire crystal faces with anti-reflective treatments alongside a screw-down case back and a screw-down crown.
Complimenting the watch is a satin-finished stainless steel bracelet with polished central links. However, rubber straps in yellow and turquoise are also changeable options. Powering the watch is a MIDO automatic Caliber 80 movement that features a power reserve of up to 80 hours. Alongside its striking look and solid movement, the watch is water-resistant up to 10 bar and is limited to 999 units.
