Tierra Whack Invites You Into Her World of New LP ‘World Wide Whack’

The follow up to her 2018 breakout ‘Whack World.’

Tierra Whack has dropped her highly-anticipated “debut” album, World Wide Whack. Although the project is technically the follow-up to 2018’s Whack World, the LP that cemented the artist as a genre-bending force to be reckoned with, she’s been referring to the new album as her debut.

The term isn’t entirely inaccurate, given Whack is on an endless journey of re-creating herself. World Wide Whack is a testament not only to her shapeshifting but also her boundless creativity, from creative direction to witty lyricism.

Preceded by the eerie single “27 Club,” the artist gave fans a preview of the playfulness with which she’d be approaching darker subject matter. Even when unpacking her twisted, multi-layered psyche, Whack sung her songs with a cheery smile – and in an accompanying music video, even donned a clown costume.

Other songs on World Wide Whack continue her exploration of mental health and inner turmoil. In the making for over six years, the standout album is a reminder that even in Whack’s colorful world, things are not always as joyful and carefree as they may look to the outside observer.
