Kobe Bryant’s 2000 Lakers Championship Ring Is Up for Auction
The late player had gifted the ring to his father.
A ring gifted from Kobe Bryant to his father, Joe Bryant, is headed to auction. Kobe had won the ring when the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers for the NBA Championship in 2000, marking the first of five championships he would go on to win in his career.
After the inaugural victory, Kobe gifted the original to his father and had a replica made for his mother, Pamela. The original ring, which features a band and base of 14K gold and contains a total of 40 diamonds, is now headlining an upcoming auction hosted by Goldin.
Centered on basketball memorabilia, Goldin’s auction also includes a ring from the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Championship Ring. While the previous owner of that ring remains anonymous, the Championship is widely known as the year Lebron James returned to his hometown team.
There are also several jerseys up on the auction block. The jersey worn by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar during his final season for the Lakers is up for bids, alongside Kevin Durant’s 2017 Golden State Warriors jersey.
Bidding is available up until March 30 on Goldin’s website.
