Eminem is celebrating 25 years of his GRAMMY-winning track “My Name Is” with a special “The Making of” video, where he revealed that the song’s visual was his first “big-budget” project.

The rapper shared that the visual marked “a big moment” in his career as this was only the second music video he’d ever done but it was already a big-budget project. “It was such a big deal to experience a soundstage, a full crew, and all the things that come with shooting something at that scale. It was such a huge learning curve to see what a big Hollywood production looked like,” Em stated. The “My Name Is” visual also became the rapper’s first collaboration with director Phil Atwell, who went on to helm the visuals for “The Real Slim Shady,” “Stan,” “Lose Yourself” and “Just Lose It.”

Other fun facts were also unveiled by the rapper, including shutting down the rumor that he was high on ecstasy while filming the scenes wherein he’s dressed like Bill Clinton.

“Looking back this seems like the perfect introduction to the world, and a perfect first single for my major label debut,” he continued. “I don’t think I could write an update in 2024, but maybe I’ll have them write ‘Bye, My Name Was’ on my tombstone.”
