Timothée Chalamet has had a long-standing relationship with Cartier. As ambassador of the Parisian jewelry house, the actor often has the chance to create one-of-a-kind pieces with the house for his red carpet appearances. Prior to Dune: Part Two, Cartier and Chalamet worked his first bespoke necklace with the hosue for Wonka. Chalamet now once again dazzles in another special Cartier custom creation for Dune: Part Two.

Worn at the London premiere of the film, Chalamet’s creation with the house saw him sport a rare piece of jewelry inspired by Dune. The necklace was designed with set pieces that could be rotated to show off 900 different combinations of gemstones embedded onto the necklace. The glimmering stones saw diamonds in orange, yellow and brown, an homage to Arrakis’ desert terrain. Cartier also set inverted diamonds to create the rough textures of Dune‘s planet topography. Blue sapphires and spinels were also used on the opposite side of the sandy-inspired stones, paying tribute to the eyes of the shocking blue eyes of the Fremen tribe in the film.

In the press statement, Chalamet said, “Cartier creations have always been my first choice for important moments and getting to collaborate on this project only reinforced that for me. I think Marie-Laure [Cérède, Cartier’s creative director of jewelry and watchmaking] and I found a way to evoke the desert and harsh beauty of Dune in the Cartier style; a wonderful opposite to the candy-colored enchantment of our first collaboration together.”
