Courrèges FW24 Touts Calm Sensuality

Dually a testament to symmetry.

Under the stewardship of Nicolas Di Felice, Courrèges has always found its footing in the balance between simplicity and sensuality. For him, pompous spectacles and costume-like attire aren’t necessary to craft a winning collection as wearability remains on his mind. So with the brand revealing its new Fall/Winter 2024 collection during Paris Fashion Week, Di Felice imparted another discussion on sensuality, but this time it danced with symmetry.

Sensuality is a given for Di Felice. He knows how to craft all the hallmarks of a woman’s wardrobe like dresses, tops and jackets with an air of romantic intrigue. What fuels that skillset is the designer’s continued refinement and exploration of silhouette and little, but impactful design details. So by looking at symmetry this time around, the collection was tossed a few levels ahead.

What granted the collection its personality was an exploration of primary shapes and how their multidimensional use. For example, you may see a shepherd check top that features a rectangle-shaped front bodice, while the remainder of the top is sheer – giving the piece a geometric look. If not a square, elements of ovals and circles are seen in skirts with skirts and dresses donning curved hems.

Whether it be a circle, square, rectangle or even a triangle, the function of shapes and their symmetry pervades the entire collection. But it does so in a way that’s wearibly quiet and versatile.

Take a look at Courrèges’ FW24 collection in the gallery above. Stay tuned for more of Hypebeast’s coverage of Paris Fashion Week.
