18 East and Helinox Encourage You to "Enjoy the Natural World, Anywhere" With New Capsule
A chair and a duffle bag, both featuring 18 East’s abstract “Tracks” print.
18 East and Helinox have teamed up for the first time to release a concise capsule that encourages you to “enjoy the natural world, anywhere.” Time in the great outdoors is one of the key tenants of 18 East’s design ethos — founder and creative director Antonio Ciongoli grew up in Vermont as a skateboarding and art-loving kid — and here that love of the outdoors is blended with Helinox’s technical know-how for goods that look equally at home in the city as they do on a campsite.
That juxtaposition is made evident in the lookbook, which shows an urban camping scene that puts the goods to use. There’s a Tactical Chair One and a Tactical Field Duffle Bag, both of which feature 18 East’s all-over “Tracks” print, an abstract, camo-like assemblage inspired by the woodblock prints of artist Gustave Baumann. The chair boasts hidden side pockets and can be assembled or broken down and stored in an accompanying bag in under 60 seconds. Meanwhile, the duffle bag offers a handsome 60L capacity, molle webbing straps to attach external gear and a channel behind its outer pockets that lets it be clipped to a rolling suitcase. Both items are constructed from weather-resistant 600D recycled polyester canvas.
