Apple Sports Is a New App Delivering Real-Time Stats on Your Lock Screen
Publishing updates from the NHL, MLS, NBA and more.
Apple has created an entire app dedicated to providing sports scores and stats. Whether you’re a soccer fan or an avid NHL viewer, Apple Sports will keep you constantly updated on what’s going on with your favorite teams.
The real-time statistics app showcases scoreboards in an easy-to-use interface with the option of having match updates pop up on one’s lock screen in real-time. Right now, the free app offers coverage of the MLS, NBA, NHL and men’s and women’s NCAA basketball. It also caters to Bundesliga, LaLiga, Liga MX, Ligue 1, Premier League and Serie A.
Sadly, Apple Sports isn’t offering stats on the MLB and NFL just yet, so baseball and football fans are out of luck for the time being. It plans to bring coverage to those leagues down the line, along with the NCAAF, NWSL and WNBA.
In addition to updates, the app shows lineup information and betting odds. From the Apple Sports app, a quick tap can bring users into the game in the Apple TV app, so they can resume watching the game with ease.
The Apple Sports app is available for download in the US, UK and Canada.
