In the latest chapter of their influential partnership, Maserati and Hiroshi Fujiwara join forces to design the first-ever bespoke supercar in the brand’s Fuoriserie By collection.

The new series is inspired by the Trident customization program, similarly named Fuoriserie, which gives customers the chance to tailor and modify their prospective supercars into a one-of-a-kind automobile. In celebration of this service, Fuoriserie By is set to invite past Maserati collaborators to put their spin on the most famous models it has produced to date.

For his exclusive edition, Fujiwara takes on the MC20 Cielo as a base for his designs. With an affinity for classic cars – as expressed to Hypebeast back in 2021 – the Fragment founder presents two sleek and minimalist versions of the supercar that simultaneously reflect the streetwear label’s iconic aesthetic. The first subscribes to an all-over “Nero Vulcano” shade while the second comes in a crisp “Bianco Audace” to create a yin-yang combination.

In a Maserati first, the Trident symbol typically engulfing the tonneau cover on the rear of the automotive is swapped out for Fragment’s signature lightning bolt. Giving the new addition a subtle edge, the emblem is applied on the car in a matte version of their respective colorways sleekly cutting through the glossy-finish bodies.

Bringing the monochromatic look inside, the 6-way power seat interiors come wrapped in black leather with white stitching and an embroidered Trident logo on the headrest. Other components such as the sport steering wheel and armrest are also upholstered in this style while a metal plate in between the headrest adds a stamp of authenticity. As for the technical features, both of the models retain the MC20 Cielo’s F1-derived V6 Nettuno engine, giving the striking car the high performance it deserves.

In an official statement, Klaus Busse, Head of Design at Maserati, shared how he hopes the collection will showcase the possibilities of the Trident customization program, saying “Our wish here is for clients to express their personality and passion by creating their very own Maserati. Just like Hiroshi, everyone can choose from a wide range of personalization features from our Fuoriserie collections or take more individual journeys to design true one-of-a-kind rolling sculptures.”
