Dr. Martens Drops Festive 'Year of the Snake' Collection
Accented with snakeskin finishes and red soles in the spirit of the Chinese zodiac.
In celebration of the forthcoming Year of the Snake, Dr. Martens has designed a capsule of footwear and accessories inspired by the reptilian animal. Signifying “intelligence and refined taste,” the festive collection includes versions of the 1460, 1461, and the brand’s Ramsey Creeper, each with snake embossing applied in unique variations.
The British footwear brand’s classic 1460 lace-up boot is offered in full-grain leather with a diamond embossing effect applied at the toe box and a brown snakeskin printed strip at the heel counter. The new model maintains the classic yellow welt stitch and brown sole while finishing the design with golden snake lace charms.
An elevated classic is offered in the low 1461 lace-up shoe, updated with a similar snakeskin heel accent and a red sole inspired by the lucky colors of the Lunar New Year. Finally, the New Year collection includes a vintage leather backpack embossed with a snakeskin texture and adorned with luxe golden hardware and word marks.
