BEAMS and The North Face Purple Label have a rich, longstanding relationship filled with a wealth of store exclusives ranging from trench coats to Harrington jackets and much more. For their latest collaborative effort, the two are reimagining The North Face’s famed Mountain Light Jacket — a colorful two-tone style that was initially released in the ’90s — as a garment they’re dubbing the Field Mountain Parka.
The Field Mountain Parka features the same colorblocking scheme that the Mountain Light Jacket is known for, with a primary tone on the chest, hood, cuffs and underside of the sleeves accented by a stark black shade on the outer half of the sleeves and side of the chest. Here, the colors chosen are two shades of indigo, one light and the other dark. Other details include a The North Face logo on the left sleeve, a custom-branded chest zipper and hood drawstrings/cuff buttons for a customizable fit. A finishing touch is provided by a familiar Purple Label tag on the inside of the jacket (for those not in the know on the world of Japanese technical outerwear, The North Face Japan is produced by nanamica, who, in turn is owned by Goldwin). In classic BEAMS fashion, the silhouette is oversized and the fit is loose.
